Western Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)

These large raptors can be found throughout the Philippines in habitats such as lakes, fishponds, and coastal areas. They are adept at hunting fish by hovering over the water and then landing feet first, so their talons grab hold of their prey. They then fly their prey to a feeding spot, usually tall dead trees. The IUCN lists them as least concern with what appears as an increase in their population trend.
