Philippine Hanging Parrot/Colasisi (Loriculus philippensis)

These parrots are the smallest of the species of parrot endemic to the Philippines. They sport green plumage which is used to help them blend in with foliage. Males differ from the females by having a red patch on their breast. They are found throughout the country except in Palawan. They can be found in forests and gardens. Their diet mostly consists of fruit and flowers. The IUCN lists them as least concern however there appears to be decrease in the population trend.
