Olive-Backed Sunbird (Cinnyris jugularis)

The most common species of sunbird found throughout the Philippines. The males of this species sport a metallic purple throat while the females lack it. They are found in a wide variety of habitats from forests to gardens. They feed on flowering pants with the aid of their long-curved beak. The IUCN lists them as least concern with their population trend currently being stable.
