Guiabero (Bolbopsittacus lunulatus)

These small parrots are one of the species of parrot endemic to The Philippines. Their green plumage helps them to blend in well with foliage. There is a slight difference in appearance between males and females. Males have more blue around their face and a blue line around their neck. Females have less blue around their and a black-and-yellow line around their neck. They are found in Luzon, Samar, Leyte, and Mindanao. They usually go in pairs or small groups. Their diet mainly consists of fruit such as figs and guava. The IUCN lists them as least concern with their population trend currently being stable.
