Asian Glossy Starling (Aplonis panayensis)

These medium-sized birds are characterized by its striking red eyes and dark, glossy green plumage which appears black in low lighting. Juveniles differ from the adults by having white underparts with black streaks. They are found throughout the Philippines in a variety of habitats ranging from urban areas to forest, often in small to large groups. Their diet consists of fruits and insects. The IUCN lists them as least concern with their population trend currently unknown.
